Some things, like her marriage, are no laughing matter for Mel B.
The America's Got Talent judge made that clear on Tuesday's live episode.
After illusionist Demian Aditya completed an act he calls "the death drop," with technical difficulty, host Tyra Banks explained the issue was not the magician's fault and asked for the judges' opinions. This is where things grew tense, thanks to Simon Cowell.
"Well, I kind of imagine this would be like Mel B's wedding night, a lot of..." Cowell said before the crowd erupted in audible shock and the former Spice Girl unscrewed her Dunkin Donuts cup and hurled its contents at him.
This isn't even the first time this season Mel's thrown her drink at her fellow judge. During the audition rounds, Cowell joked that she'd managed to get famous without knowing how to dance and ended up getting soaked.
As for Tuesday's incident, the singer said she only had one regret: "I just [wish] I would have had cranberry juice in there or something, and then his whole body would be really sticky!"
After their confrontation, the two judges shared words during the commercial break and were able to move forward before the next performers took the stage.
"I told him he was an asshole and that was it, and he goes, 'Oh, whatever,'" Mel B recalled. The two have always butted heads throughout their time on the show, but the singer said her goal is to always make sure to put the performers first and personal drama second.
Cowell, continuing his thought, said, "a lot of anticipation, not much promise or delivery."
"Mel B is out," Banks said, narrating the situation as Scary Spice made her exit.
The NBC show tweeted that she "left the building," though she returned to judge the next act.
