What do Final Fantasy XV and Assassin's Creed Origins have in common? Other than a few RPG mechanics, not much to be honest. Be that as it may, these two games are about to collide in a bizarre way. Next week Final Fantasy XV players will be treated to some free DLC; an entire festival dedicated to the culture of assassination, and some very familiar costumes and combat maneuvers will make their way into the game.
The companies have announced that on August 30, Final Fantasy XV players will be given an Assassin's outfit for Noctis if they have collected the Moogle Chocobo Carnival event's Dream Egg. The following day, August 31, the free Assassin's Festival DLC will be made available for Final Fantasy XV. The new content will transform the town of Lestalium, offering new activities, themed items, and features. Among that content will be another Assassin's Creed outfit and the chance for Noctis to explore more in the style of and use some of the abilities of an assassin from Ubisoft's franchise.
So you may be asking yourself, "why?" It seems like a totally random promotion, but it's actually been in the works for a while. According to the update, this all started years ago at a mutual meeting between these two teams at the Tokyo Game Show. “This collaboration is the result of being huge fans,” says Ubisoft game director Ashraf Ismail. “There’s a lot of respect between the two teams and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the opportunity to pay homage to each other’s work.”
Either way, it means more cool free stuff for Final Fantasy players. We'll take it!
